Share Your Musical Talent In Worship

Music has a profound ability to uplift spirits, inspire worship, and foster community, and here at our church, we embrace the power of music to enhance our worship experience. Our music ministry is a vibrant and inclusive community where individuals of all ages and musical abilities can come together to glorify God through song. Whether you’re passionate about traditional hymns, contemporary worship music, or exploring new musical expressions, there’s a place for you to share your talents and be part of something special.

Temple Choir
The Temple Choir is a ministry of the 8:30 traditional service at Methodist Temple. We prepare musical selections that connect to the sermon or seasonal themes of the worship service. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:00, and child care is available. Occasionally, we do have additional rehearsals for special services such as Christmas Eve and Holy Week. Temple Choir is composed of singers with various levels of experience and ability. All are welcome.

Praise Team
Praise Team is a ministry of the 11:00 contemporary service at Methodist Temple. Our Praise Team band and singers lead our congregation in singing more modern, contemporary music. Praise Team is typically composed of more experienced musicians, but all are welcome.

Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir is an intergenerational ensemble who participate in worship services throughout the year. The voluntary group rehearses on Sunday mornings following the Traditional Service. Membership is open to all who are interested in making music to enhance worship at Methodist Temple.

Temple Brass
The Temple Brass is a ministry, providing instrumental music during the 8:30 traditional service at Methodist Temple. Most of the time, we are a brass quintet, but occasionally we provide larger or smaller ensembles, as needed, to support the music ministry. We rehearse weekly and play once per month. Our music may include pre-service, special music, offertory, pre- and postlude selections to highlight these aspects of the worship service. We enjoy exploring the wide range of arrangements available for brass ensembles. If you are interested in joining Temple Brass, please contact the church office and we will get you in contact with the director.

Temple Airs
The Temple Airs band started in 1983 and was led by Dr. Ray Arensman. The band is a continued supporter of nonprofit organizations, that has helped raise over $4 million in the last 40+ years. The band is an 18-piece big band playing the music of the 40s and 50s.
