We have been tagged in multiple posts on Facebook saying that we are open as a Red Cross Shelter. While we are a shelter, we have not yet been contacted by our local Red Cross professionals and our staff has been unable to safely get to our church building. We cannot yet confirm we have power and necessary resources and are not a safe, viable shelter at this point. We are working on this, though. I think my word for the year is going to be "plan." I've tried to come up with an acronym for it without any success, but my hope is that I can be more intentional about planning ahead.
Thank you for taking the time to share this sermonette. Just what I needed this morning. We did this one word exercise at our Wesselman Woods staff development this week and my word was “helpful.” I think this is where I need to be at this moment in my life. Please continue to share with me how I can be helpful to you, the staff and the congregation of Methodist Temple.
